Want to hear the play? Join us at Irish Repertory Theatre for an in-person reading of this classic take down of prejudice –– complete with fake names, fun accents, fierce women, and family

Alicia Sheridan Le Fanu

(1753-1817) was a major influence in the Dublin artistic community – but not much is known about her. She was born & married into two prolific artistic families. Her father was an actor; her mother was a novelist and playwright; her sister published two novels; and her niece, Alicia Le Fanu (confusing, we know), was a prolific writer. And, when she couldn’t be at the last few rehearsals of Sons of Erin, her nephew saw the process through.
