The Future of Classics is Female

A Year-End Reflection

As we take a step back this holiday season and look at the impact Expand the Canon has made, we couldn't be any prouder.

Theaters like Island Shakespeare Festival and Meadowlark Shakespeare Players are not just performing Shakespeare anymore.  University students and professors from Chapman University and Northern Arizona University are discovering that women were always writing.  And grade-school students advocating to learn about playwrights who look like them are having their dreams answered at places like Classic Stage Company.

Join us as we celebrate these milestones - and plan for the future. A future where classic plays by women are produced on stages & taught in universities around the world. A future where women’s legacies are valued, both through history and going forward.

Help make that future possible and be part of this impact.  Your support today uplifts the voices of centuries of women and non-binary writers.

We hope you have a safe and happy holiday season- and can't wait to see you next year as we dive into the 2023 Expand the Canon List together.
