Meet the Day of the Dead Ladies Director!
Emily Abrams (she/her) is a director of theatre, circus, and good vibes. Currently, she is the Associate Director of Slam Frank, the Anne Frank hip-hop musical. Recently, Emily directed the Off-Broadway production of The Royal Pyrate. Prior to that, Emily was the Resident Director of Spiegelworld's circus-burlesque-spectacular, The Hook and was also the Associate Director of the hit Off-Broadway magic show, Mindplay. Emily is an affiliated artist at New Georges and is a member of The Jam. She is an alum of the New York Theatre Workshop's 2050 Artistic Fellowship, Roundabout Director’s Group, Studio Theatre’s Directing Apprenticeship, Ars Nova’s Emerging Leaders Fellowship, and Asolo Rep’s Directing Fellowship. American Shakespeare Center
Video auditions are being accepted through October 22 for the Expand the Canon Partnership production of Hannah Cowley’s Bold Stroke for a Husband, as well as eight other productions in American Shakespeare Center’s 2026 Season.
In-Person Auditions are currently full, so AEA and Non-AEA are encouraged to sign-up on the day of wait list or submit a video.
